The Master Gestión y Dirección de Empresas e Instituciones Turísticas of the Politechnic University of Cartagena (MGDEIT) is a post-graduate course ascribed to level 3 (master’s degree) of the National Qualifications Framework (MECES) corresponds to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which defines master's programs as programs that provide students with 'advanced training, either specialized or multidisciplinary, aimed at academic or professional specialization.

The objective of the MGDEIT is to train professionals and researchers specialized in the field of management and administration of tourism companies and institutions, leading them to become higher management staff or tourism research technicians. Our postgraduate training focuses on two aspects: on the one hand, it aims at providing students with the general and specific skills necessary for professional improvement, both individually and regarding the institution or firm for which they will work; whereas, on the other hand, it seeks to promote the ethical and social responsibility of professionals as citizens in their daily activity. Taking these two objectives into account, the program provides quality postgraduate training within the tourism industry, an expanding sector with great relevance to the regional and Spanish economies. This program also serves as a response to the growing needs of training perceived at management levels of the tourism sector. It offers both a professional and a research profile and introduces a natural continuity to current official studies in the Spanish university system: degrees in Business Studies, BMA, Tourism and also serves the needs of other graduates and professionals involved in the tourism industry (however, in these cases the students will be required to complete a set of complementary courses).

The Master is teached in Spanish, so students are expected to demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of the Spanish language.
